See, speak, and hear?
One can not pretend not
to!
See no evil, speak no
evil, hear no evil–those days are gone.
Was there ever a time
when there was no evil?
Then came a time when
the assurance of evil was only too evident, and
Many were able to close
themselves off and live the illusion of peace on earth.
But,
now the media has thrown
it so clearly into our faces for so long that the real life events capture
the attention of the thrill-seekers, the “made for TV” situations no
longer hold one’s attention...real life has surpassed the imagination of
Hollywood.
Not,
that the possibility of
allowing the general public to out-do the producers in Hollywood is
probable, for the public life is simply the fruit of decades of flim, flam,
filth, flirtatious fecundity flowing from the seeds Hollywood has been
planting and guarding and nurturing for so so long.
Now,
all they have to do is
to allow us to destroy ourselves. Capture
it live on video, and the bucks continue to roll in, life continues to
degenerate, and every one is happy.
Like Rome of 2000 years
ago, we turn our heads and close our doors because the reality of the
highway to hell is coming through our living rooms and we would prefer to
hide in our closets. We would
prefer to hold on to the life we feel we have rather than speak out for our
country, our children, our lives. Too
many with too much are not too highly motivated in changing too terribly
much in order that they can save their own lives.
Problem
is that the law of life
cuts to the quick. What law?
If you try to save your
life, if you hold onto your life, you will lose it.
Life only comes through
letting go, through embracing others, through up-holding the ideals of Love,
Hope, and Faith in God.
But,
then again, any one with
any real commitment to God has paid dearly for it and well, this life I see,
touch, feel, hear, and taste is very pleasant and why take a chancew on losing
it for a concept so old, so vague, so out of fashion and actually so
demanding?
Like in the days of Sodom
and Gomorra, will God find any righteous in irder to spare our world?
Fortunately for us, they will be found for the price has been paid, we
stand righteous before God through faith in God’s love for us...but will we
be found obedient and loving heirs? Will
our eternal capacities, which have been developing day after day on this
planet be large due to our humility, our love, and our care for our brothers
and sisters? Or will it be found
lacking and dwarfed due to our lack of desire to deny ourselves and to put
others first in our decisions and in our actions?
See, speak, hear...what do you see, to whom have you
spoken, have you heard those around you lately? Peace on earth? What
