Man desires to lose his
freedom. He does not know how
to handle it! One may say that
on the outside he wants it,
that
he is willing to fight for it;
even
in the midst of his life–right now,
he
thinks that he is free.
...But
it is one of the greatest deceptions of all time–man today, is like an
animal in a cage. He carries
his bars around with him...rarely today is a man free.
Freedom drives a man crazy.
It takes an extreme
amount of faith to live in freedom.
What does freedom mean?
...perhaps
a good question to pursue at this time.
Freedom is the ability
to choose to do nothing.
To do whatever you want.
It is to be able to live
in the moment...the true definition of freedom: Living in the moment–which
is eternity!
Man is constantly
seeking refuge behind bars, in his prison of self,
held
securely in bondage to himself–Prison Cell 666.
Not
a minute goes by but that he is in chains of some sort.
Only
a very small remnant is free–living in faith.
Man is too weak to be
free.
The three things which
man craves,
those
things which determine whether a man will live under
compulsion or in
freedom:
Bread–materializing
his insecurities;
Appeasing
his conscience–conceptualizing his insecurities,
his
need to believe in an idea which is absolute;
his
craving for universal peace and unity–
spiritualizing
his insecurity.
A rich man who gathers and
collects is simply materializing his insecurity. He builds a castle. A
man who can not build a castle may then conceptualize his need through
believing in communism or socialism or democracy–lives for a purpose.
He forms unions and lobbies for legislation to guarantee his security.
Then comes along the religious man who spiritualizes his needs through
a program of “works”. He will
busy himself with doing things; i.e. following the Great Commission and other
scriptures, but the truth is that he too is afraid, he is simply building bars
around himself in the name of Jesus.
Freedom is believing in
eternity!
Solely
depending upon the mercy of God.
Doing nothing if God says,
nothing.
Living by every word which
proceeds from the mouth of God.
Living from the PROCEEDING
WORD OF GOD.
The
Bible is a wonderful manual for getting to know about God and his ways.
But as far as how to live each day–live by the proceeding word of
God. That is living through a
strict obedience each moment of the day, listening to his still small voice:
go this way to the right or to the left.
Living in the “now” is not making plans; it is not joining groups
which require so much of your time; it is not setting up yourself to be
committed to organizations which enable you to repress your fears and
insecurities through various programs aimed social justice.
Oh they will say that you
are a reprobate. They will say
worse–the Pharisees of Jesus’ day thought he was from the devil...Jesus
simply lived each day from the hand and mouth of God.
Prison Cell
666–man’s own self-induced bondage to fear.
Do we live our life under
the illusion of freedom or
Do
we ruthlessly tear down the bars and strip away the walls and breath easily,
freely, vulnerably in the
moment
to moment existence of faith?
