Love one another, even as
I have loved you.
Such sweet and simple
words, yet ones truly more powerful then any Public policy ever set forth or
acted upon by governments since the beginning of hatred, fear, bitterness,
since the first face of any political satisficing, power-thirsty,
war-mongering leader has risen up on this earth...since barriers of cultures,
geography, traditions, beliefs, and doctrines have divided the people and set
them one against another...since the desire to have became more popular rather
than the desire to give...since when??? Since
we forgot who is the father/mother of all men and women upon this earth.
God says, Love one
another. Just love one another.
Do not change one another. Do
not simply congregate with one another of those with whom you feel a safe and
a satisfying reflection. Certainly
God’s Love for us is unmeasurable–for all of the centuries we have failed
to turn the key to life. Will we
ever learn this truth, experience the beauty of life found only in loving one
another simply as we are in all of our varieties of ways of life?
The Earth heats up with
the tensions created through our vein attempts at building a world in our
image–at the same time, the rain of God’s love is falling...so all of
creation is having a chance to grow. As
this conflict between the heat of hatred and the rain of life heightens, we
are left to answer and respond to one last question: Will the fires burn out
before we are able to hold up one another to the freshness of life?
Little children, Let us
love one another, even as I have loved you.
